How can I verify the platelet level for Vivostat® PRF® ?
Normally the platelet level in platelet gels is determined by cell counting. Platelets in the Vivostat® PRF® solution, however, cannot be measured with a standard system due to interference with the fibrin. The buffers added during the particle counting (e.g. Sysmex) will cause the fibrin to polymerize and thereby interfere with the assay.
Vivostat has developed a system to determine the platelet volume by using specially designed probes. Please contact Vivostat for information.
