Vecata A/S was founded in the 1950s as an operational company for the confectionary activities of the Bagger-Sørensen family. Since the first family succession in 1974, Vecata A/S has handled the financial side of the business with no operational activities. In 2002 the Bagger-Sorensen family sold DANDY A/S and the chewing gum brands DIROL®, STIMOROL® and V6® to Cadbury-Schweppes Plc.
 
The sale provided substantial funds for the Bagger-Sørensen family and the venture activities were subsequently established in 2003. Vecata A/S manages an open-ended fund and invests in high growth potential companies with a visionary, unique and patented concept, primarily in Denmark. Vecata A/S has no sector specific focus.
